Written by Team James

Weld County seeks volunteers for the Redistricting Advisory Committee. Help shape commissioner districts—apply by April 14!

Weld County invites residents to apply for a position on the Redistricting Advisory Committee. This committee, which will be made up of nine members, will be charged with developing county commissioner districts in accordance with state law and the Weld County Home Rule Charter.

By law, the committee must consist of an equal number of registered Democratic, Republican, and Unaffiliated or third-party voters. This volunteer committee will have assistance from non-partisan county staff to help answer questions and provide tools (such as GIS maps) to assist the committee in reaching their goal.

Meeting time, location and frequency will be determined by the members of the committee, but applicants should prepare for at least one evening meeting a week for four to seven weeks to accomplish the goal of presenting at least three potential maps as well as a recommendation for the final map to the Weld County Redistricting Commission for approval no later than June 30, 2025.

If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please submit an application by 5 p.m. on April 14, 2025.
