Written by Scott James

Weld County invites residents to redistricting listening sessions June 4 in Firestone and June 6 in Eaton. Share your voice—get involved!

The Weld County Redistricting Advisory Committee is holding listening sessions in Firestone and Eaton this week. Weld County residents are invited to attend these sessions to provide input and ask questions about the redistricting process.

Residents can attend the following sessions:

June 4, 2025
Carbon Valley Regional Library, Meeting Room 1
7 Park Ave., Firestone

June 6, 2025
Eaton Community Center, Ponderosa Room
1675 3rd St., Eaton

If you cannot attend one of the listening sessions, please know the redistricting advisory committee will hold weekly meetings on Thursdays, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weld County Administration Building, located at 1150 O St., Greeley. The public is welcome to attend the meetings as well as provide public comments via the public input form on the redistricting committee webpage. The committee, however, will not be holding a Thursday, June 5, meeting this week.

Redistricting is the process of reviewing county commissioner district boundaries to ensure they comply with state law and the Weld County Home Rule Charter. Under Colorado Revised Statute (30-10-306.7) boundaries for county commissioner districts must be redrawn based on data from the most recent United States Census.

The advisory committee will present three maps to the commission in a public hearing on June 30. Three additional public hearings will be held July 9, July 16 and July 23 before a final decision and adoption of the official map is made.

More information about the 2025 redistricting process can be found on the redistricting webpage.
