In recognition of National County Government Month in April, Weld County is shining a spotlight on the crucial services county government provides its residents as well as the employees who work in a variety of different fields to ensure those services are provided efficiently and to the highest quality possible.
“Our more than 1,900 county employees work tirelessly, every day to deliver high-quality services to our residents,” said Commissioner Chair Perry Buck. “National County Government Month is an opportunity to showcase their invaluable work and the positive impact these services have on the entire community.”
From those who work directly with the public to those who support critical behind-the-scenes functions, every employee is integral to the success of the county and the well-being of its residents. This month, we celebrate the collective efforts that help to maintain services, uphold community standards and improve the quality of life for everyone in Weld.
Weld County spans over 4,000 square miles and is home to over 350,000 residents throughout communities both urban and rural. The range of services provided to residents are not limited to but vary from maintaining over 2,000 miles of road, providing critical public health and safety services, as well as emergency preparedness and assistance to families and children.
The collaborative effort of Weld County employees to meet the county’s mission of providing innovative, responsive and cost-effective services to residents will continue to be a focus in the face of continued growth. Weld County grew just over 9% between 2020 and 2023, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, a figure that’s expected to continue to rise.
