Weld County’s Redistricting Advisory Committee has begun its work to redraw commissioner districts. Public input is welcome through July.

The first meeting of the 2025 Weld County Redistricting Advisory Committee was held on Thursday, May 8, 2025. This advisory committee is tasked with creating district boundaries for consideration and approval of the redistricting commission (the Board of Weld County Commissioners).

At the initial meeting, the committee voted Adrienne Sandoval as Chair and Stacy Suniga as Vice Chair. The committee also set regular meeting dates.

The committee will hold weekly meetings on Thursdays, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weld County Administration Building, located at 1150 O St., Greeley. The public is welcome to attend the meetings. The public is also encouraged to provide public comments via the public input form on the redistricting committee webpage.

The members of the Redistricting Advisory Committee include:

  • Julie Cozad
  • Zoe Hubbard
  • Dawn Kafes
  • Dave Long
  • Lane Mattox
  • Adrienne Sandoval
  • Sonny Subia
  • Stacy Suniga
  • Brandon Wark

Redistricting is the process of reviewing county commissioner district boundaries to ensure they comply with state law and the Weld County Home Rule Charter. Under Colorado Revised Statute (30-10-306.7), boundaries for county commissioner districts must be redrawn based on data from the most recent United States Census.

The advisory committee will present three maps to the commission in a public hearing on June 30. Three additional public hearings will be held July 9, July 16 and July 23 before a final decision and adoption of the official map is made.

More information about the 2025 Redistricting process can be found on the redistricting webpage.
