My job and my vision is clear: keep Weld County fiscally conservative, safe, and free. That means prioritizing roads and infrastructure, backing law enforcement, protecting taxpayers, and stopping one size fits all mandates from Denver and Washington. We do what works here, because it works.
Why Weld
I love this place. From the ranchland in the northeast to productive farms along our rivers to the suburban neighborhoods in the southwest, Weld County is a place where families and businesses grow. My goal is simple. Finish what we started, protect our way of life, defend your God-given rights, and keep county government lean, efficient, and accountable to you.
Local Control, Not Distant Mandates
I have fought the bad ideas and one size fits all rules that flow from the state capitol. If a policy helps Weld, we adopt it. If it hurts Weld, I push back, fix it, or defeat it. We listen to residents, not bureaucrats. That is the Weld County way.
Energy that Works
Weld is an “all‑of‑the‑above” energy county and a state and national leader. We will foster oil and gas development that is safer, cleaner, and reliable. We’ll lean in on renewables and battery storage where it makes sense, work with industry on emerging technologies like geothermal and hydrogen, and yes, bring nuclear back into the mix. I will work to make Weld a place where nuclear energy can be produced safely.
Public Safety First
Public safety is government’s first job. I will keep working with the Sheriff to ensure a capable, well‑equipped Sheriff’s Office. Our 911 Emergency Communications Center will have top‑tier technology and training. We’ll keep open lines with local police departments and follow federal law when working with federal partners. Safe communities stay free communities.
Taxes and Spending
Weld already has one of the lowest mill levies in Colorado, and I intend to keep it that way. We’ll preserve and continue to issue the mill credits that are part of Weld’s DNA, use technology to find efficiencies, and keep government smaller, leaner, and more responsive. Every dollar does and will continue to show value to taxpayers.
Roads and Growth
For 25 years I’ve pushed to improve Northern Colorado roads, and I’m not stopping. As chair of the I‑25 Coalition, I will keep pressing at the Capitol and CDOT for a wider, safer backbone for our state. US‑34 is next – it must be widened and modernized. Weld will continue to pave our own way, building on the success of County Road 49 with major improvements on County Road 54 (connecting Kersey, Evans, Milliken, and Johnstown to I‑25) and County Road 66 north of the Greeley‑Weld County Airport.
Open Government, Clear Communication
You deserve to know what is happening and why. I will keep listening, elevate your voice in county and state discussions, and use my God given gift of communication to keep you informed, early and often. I will also call out bad ideas in plain English and show the better Weld solution.
Partners in Opportunity
The University of Northern Colorado is a tremendous asset. With the forthcoming medical school, I look forward to working with President Andy Feinstein to ensure Weld provides what UNC needs to grow opportunities.from healthcare to a future College of Energy that strengthens our workforce and innovation.
Aims Community College is a national treasure right here in Weld. Aims offers unique programs and a nimble nature which can train and foster a workforce like no other institution I know.
Families First
Most importantly, we will keep families at the center of every decision. Weld County should be the best place in America to grow your family, your business, and your dream.
