House Bill 25-1144: Repeal Retail Delivery Fees

Written by Scott James

House Bill 25-1144 eliminates the retail delivery fee—a hidden tax on every online order and home delivery. These fees drive up costs for consumers, burden small businesses, and fund unnecessary government programs. Tell your legislators to VOTE YES on HB 25-1144 and bring financial common sense back to Colorado!

House Bill 25-1144 eliminates the costly and unnecessary retail delivery fees imposed on every purchase delivered to a Colorado resident. These fees—tacked onto everything from groceries to household essentials—are nothing more than a hidden tax hike on hardworking Coloradans.

This bill:

  • Repeals the retail delivery fees imposed by the state and various environmental “enterprise” programs, immediately reducing costs for consumers.
  • Stops automatic annual increases in the fee due to inflation, blocking backdoor tax hikes without voter approval.
  • Puts an end to bureaucratic waste, ensuring Coloradans aren’t funding government pet projects through sneaky fees.
  • Restores financial transparency, preventing state agencies from using fee revenue for unrelated programs.

These delivery fees were never approved by voters and are nothing more than a tax disguised as a fee. House Bill 25-1144 restores Colorado common sense and puts money back in the pockets of hardworking families.

My Thoughts on the Bill

For too long, Colorado’s big-government politicians have nickel-and-dimed hardworking families with hidden fees and taxes. The retail delivery fee is just one more sneaky way for bureaucrats to take more of your money without asking for your permission.

This is the kind of stuff that just makes sense – repeal the damn fees and make Colorado just a bit more affordable for taxpayers. God bless ya, Rep. Woog for bringing this bill forward. But I’ll make a wager right now – the Dems will vote this down on party lines – because the Dems care more about collecting their fees for their enviro-slush funds than they do about you and your family!

House Bill 25-1144 is Colorado Common Sense. It puts a stop to these outrageous delivery fees, lowers costs for consumers, and restores financial transparency.

Why HB 25-1144 Is Critical for Colorado’s Future

Saves Coloradans millions of dollars annuallyNo more extra fees on everything you have delivered.
Stops backdoor tax hikes – These fees were designed to increase automatically without your approval.
Puts money back in YOUR pocketFamilies are struggling, and government has no business making life more expensive.
Restores financial accountability – No more government slush funds paid for by your online orders.

Enough is Enough: Cut the Hidden Fees!

Coloradans are tired of being overtaxed and overcharged. HB 25-1144 restores common sense and stops the government from gouging consumers through sneaky fees.
