House Bill 25-1164: Constitutional Carry of Handgun

Written by Scott James

House Bill 25-1164 restores Coloradans’ Second Amendment rights by establishing constitutional carry, ending local gun restrictions, and making concealed carry permits valid for life. No more bureaucratic red tape. No more unconstitutional gun control. Tell your legislators to VOTE YES on HB 25-1164 and protect your right to self-defense!

Summary of Colorado House Bill 25-1164

House Bill 25-1164 expands Second Amendment rights in Colorado by eliminating unnecessary government barriers to law-abiding citizens carrying firearms for self-defense. Specifically, this bill:

  • Establishes constitutional carry, allowing law-abiding citizens 18 and older to carry a concealed handgun without a permit.
  • Makes concealed carry permits valid for life, eliminating expiration and renewal requirements.
  • Lowers the minimum age for obtaining a concealed carry permit to 18 (previously 21).
  • Repeals local government authority to regulate concealed carry, ensuring statewide uniformity in gun rights.
  • Protects open carry rights, preventing local governments from banning the open carry of handguns.

If passed, HB 25-1164 will restore Coloradans’ fundamental right to self-defense and prevent local anti-gun politicians from restricting gun ownership.

My Thoughts on the Bill

For too long, radical leftists have chipped away at our God-given right to self-defense. HB 25-1164 finally reverses that trend by restoring constitutional carry and eliminating unnecessary bureaucratic red tape.

Why HB 25-1164 is Essential

The Second Amendment is our permit – The right to bear arms shall not be infringed—and requiring government permission to exercise that right is an infringement.

Eliminates government overreachNo more local anti-gun ordinances restricting where and how Coloradans can carry firearms. This bill ends unconstitutional local gun control once and for all.

Expands self-defense rights to young adults – If 18-year-olds can vote, serve in the military, and pay taxes, they should be able to carry a firearm to protect themselves.

Lifetime concealed carry permits – Once you pass the background check, your permit never expires. No more renewals, no more fees, no more government interference.

Keeps Colorado from becoming California – Democrats want to turn Colorado into another gun-free zone nightmare like Chicago or San Francisco. HB 25-1164 stops them in their tracks.

Enough is Enough: Restore Gun Rights NOW

It’s time to restore Colorado’s gun rights and protect law-abiding citizens from criminals and government overreach.

📢 Tell your legislators to VOTE YES on HB 25-1164! Self-defense is a fundamental right—NOT a privilege.
