USAID’s Taxpayer-Funded Waste: Millions Burned on Absurd Projects While Americans Struggle

Written by Scott James

Americans bust their asses just to fund USAID’s clown show—millions wasted on transgender operas, Taliban condoms, and woke tourism while we can’t afford eggs. Where’s the outrage?

Oh, the sweet, sweet irony of toiling away, pinching pennies, and dutifully handing over our hard-earned cash to Uncle Sam, only to watch those bureaucratic buffoons at USAID set it ablaze in a bonfire of incompetence and corruption. And it’s just one department. Just one. What do you supposed they’ll find at the Department of Defense? Education? The National Institute of Health?

It’s enough to make you want to hurl your tax return through their window.

Let’s break down the USAID circus of absurdity:

  • $1.5 million to “advance diversity, equity, and inclusion” in Serbia’s workplaces. Because, clearly, Serbian office culture is our top priority. The White House
  • $70,000 for a DEI musical in Ireland. Yes, you read that right—a musical. In Ireland. The White House
  • $47,000 on a transgender opera in Colombia. Because nothing says “wise investment” like funding niche performances abroad. The White House
  • $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru. Apparently, Peruvian comic enthusiasts were in dire need. The White House
  • $2 million for sex changes and LGBTQ activism in Guatemala. Meanwhile, back home, Americans are struggling to afford basic healthcare. The White House
  • $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt. Because the pyramids just aren’t drawing enough attention these days. The White House
  • $2.5 million for electric vehicles in Vietnam. Forget our crumbling infrastructure; let’s make sure Vietnam’s going green. The White House
  • $15 million for condoms to the Taliban. Yes, you heard that right. Committee on Foreign Affairs
  • $446,700 to promote the expansion of atheism in Nepal. Because that’s what the world needs—more funded proselytizing. Committee on Foreign Affairs
  • $1 million to boost French-speaking LGBTQ groups in West and Central Africa. Priorities, am I right? Committee on Foreign Affairs

And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: USAID reportedly bankrolled al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki’s college tuition to the tune of over $27,000. He used that education to radicalize and recruit terrorists, including 9/11 hijackers. (New York Post)

He’s a CSU Ram. So am I. Apparently, I paid for two educations at that institution.

Meanwhile, the average American is shelling out around $17,902 in taxes annually. (USAFacts) That’s money that could cover:

  • 6 months of mortgage payments on a median-priced home.
  • A year’s worth of groceries for a family of four.
  • A decent used car to get to that job that’s funding this madness.

But no, instead, it’s funneled into absurdities that have zero bearing on the lives of the people footing the bill.

On average, Americans work more than four months each year just to pay their tax bills. (Tax Foundation) That’s a third of your year spent working not for your family, not for your future, but to fund this grotesque parade of waste.

So, why aren’t we in the streets, pitchforks in hand, demanding accountability? Have we become so numb, so desensitized to this blatant squandering of our livelihoods? It’s high time we wake up, raise our voices, and reclaim the respect and responsibility that our hard-earned dollars deserve. Enough is enough.
